ABOUT WANDI
Wandi was a tiny, five-week old dingo cub who became a worldwide sensation overnight when he appeared to have been dropped by an eagle in a backyard miles from his home. It was discovered that Wandi is a pure Alpine dingo and his ecotype is rapidly facing extinction. Wandi now lives with many fellow dingoes at the Dingo Discovery Sanctuary and Research Centre, and has his own Instagram account with followers from all over the world. This is a fictional retelling of Wandi’s story.
THE STORY
A young dingo cub is suddenly snatched from his family and home by a giant eagle, then dropped, injured and alone, in a garden. This is where he meets his first human, and begins his long journey to becoming the most famous dingo in the world.
He will never see his mountain home again, or his family. But it is his destiny to save Alpine dingoes from extinction, and he dreams of a time when all cubs like him can live in the wild in safety instead of facing poison and bullets and hatred.

Favel Parrett is an award-winning and critically acclaimed author of adult fiction, whose books have been sold all over the world. Favel volunteers at the Australian Dingo Foundation where Wandi now lives. Wandi is Favel’s first foray into writing books for children.
